Project Portfolio Director - Environmental / Carbon Credits

Location: London

Basic Salary: £75,000 - £ 90,000 Per Annum excellent benefits and bonus's

We have a unique position for one of our clients who are looking for a Project Portfolio Director to join their company, devoted to reducing emissions through Carbon Markets, by developing, financing and purchasing carbon from worldwide projects. They are also dedicated to developing new ways to reduce carbon emissions. Typical projects range from Hydro, Energy Efficiency, Waste Heat recovery and wind.

You will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of projects (VCU, CDM etc), and lead the international team to ensure the projects register and issue credits quickly and smoothly while adhering to laws and regulations. You will be the key contact for negotiations with DOE’s, UNFCCC, EB, VCSA and various VCS Registries and you will also be responsible for stakeholder performance.

You will demonstrate a full understanding of the CDM process and VCSA requirements with 2 years min experience in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project management or VER related role with a DOE.

A Strong relationship builder is needed along with bags of confidence without being cocky! You must show evidence of influencing Stakeholders and board members and show an entrepreneurial flare.

2nd and 3rd languages would be beneficial, Chinese would be excellent! With / or a strong Technical/ Engineering background but not crucial.
