Senior Engineer - Civil Engineering

Location: London

Basic Salary: £35,000 Per Annum

i am looking for an experienced Strategic Structures Engineer to work on a permanent basis in London.

As Strategic Structures Engineer you will have extensive experience and knowledge of large and complex highway structures and be a chartered structural or Civil Engineer.

Main Responsibilities:

Ensuring that records of strategic structures are complete and current in both HA and CPS system
Developing maintenance and renewal strategies for the strategic structures including challenging national standards and seeking departures where appropriate
Management of inspection regime for strategic structures, agreeing risk based strategies
Programming General, Principal and Special inspections
Producing briefs and procuring specialist inspectors as necessary
Liaison and co-ordination with national and international organisations to identify innovation and best practice
Responsible for the compliance with legislation in relation to bridges and tunnel structures
Developing the 30 year renewal programme for each strategic structure
Reviewing lifecycle proposals with DBFO Co and HA to ensure compliance and encourage best value solutions
Producing design briefs for renewal schemes for strategic structures
Co-ordination of procurement with DBFO Co for renewal schemes
Providing supervision of renewal schemes for DBFO Co
Managing the updating of records and finalisation of accounts for renewal schemes
Liaison with DBFO Co to advise and inform of current and future liabilities
Liaison within CPS structures team to ensure sharing of best practice and coordination of maintenance and renewal activities
Providing and procuring specialist structures knowledge and expertise as necessary in relation to strategic structures and other structures on the network
Liaison with CPS on-road team to ensure consistency in maintenance regimes
