Principle Design Engineer - Rail

Location: Tyne & Wear

Basic Salary: £55,000 Per Annum

I am looking for a Head of Project Management to work on a permanent basis in the North East.

Reporting into the Project Direction you will be responsible for managing and directing the Project Management Office in order for it to support the Head of Renewals and other project delivery staff. Services will include planning, scheduling, estimating, risk management and reporting.

Main Responsibilities:

•To lead the professionally equipped Project Management Office in the delivery of a comprehensive support service enabling the successful completion of the project.
•To pro-actively support the Head of Renewals and other project delivery staff to assist them in delivering the individuals projects that constitute the Project.
•Lead in the identification of Programme Risk Information and the recommended mitigation measures to key holders.
•Develop a customer focussed team within the PMO that meets the needs and expectations of the key stakeholders.
•Lead in the development and implementation of procedures to allow the timely collection of data from Project Managers and other stakeholder input.
•Produce and maintain standard project methodologies/ systems including the Project Manual and other similar management systems.
•Manage the process of project and cost scheduling in accordance within the programme as a whole.
•To identify deviance form plan and propose means if mitigation where necessary and practicable.
•Prepare the agenda for regular project review meetings at least once per accounting period.
•Lead on regular key stakeholder meetings in order to relay actual figures against planned for costs, time and maturity measurements of each project and within the Programme.


The ideal candidate will experience in a senior management position with the ability to manage the full project life cycle.
