I am looking for an experienced Bid Manager to work in Chippenham on a contract basis. Reporting into the Bid Director you will be responsible for providing the existing Bid team with essential maintenance expertise and producing standard off the shelf maintenance packages that can be adapted to meet the needs of the client from 1st line to 3rd line maintenance support.
Main Responsibilities:
•Responsible for supporting all bids that have a maintenance requirement.
•Input to a bid/No bid meeting.
•Be proactive in business development to assist the account managers and support team in gaining new support contracts on the existing infrastructure.
•Responsible for the effective management of all tenders from initial enquiry through to submission of final offer for small maintenance contracts.
•Involvement in post tender presentations as required, including formal presentations to the client.
•Involvement in subsequent negotiations with the client encompassing technical, financial and commercial considerations.
Essential Requirements:
•Understand maintenance capability and have experience in bid management specialising in providing maintenance services.
•Be able to structure a bid to present the offer in the best light.
•Possesses sufficient management experience and stature to operate at the same level as project managers, in order to provide appropriate leadership to the tender team and manage negotiations with the client as appropriate.
•Ability to influence and negotiate with people at all levels within WRSL and customer organisations.
•High degree of mobility to spend a considerable time away from the agreed ‘base’ office.
•Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
•High achiever with high energy levels.
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
