WELL DONE - Successful Completion of the Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme for Construction & Civil Engineering Industries (SSSTS)

As part of VGC's commitment to Health & Safety training we have been putting our Site Supervisors through the CITB Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme. The completion of the SSSTS course has given our Site Supervisor's a strong understanding of their responsibilities as Supervisor's, helped them to oversee safety in a construction site environment and strengthened their ability to:

•·         Understand the problems of the industry;

•·         Appreciate how Health and Safety Law is structured;

•·         Identify how their supervisory role fits into that of the Manager in controlling site safety;

•·         Carry out Risk Assessments and understand the need for Method Statements;

•·         Carry out Site Inductions, Toolbox Talks and Method Statement Briefings;

•·         Understand what is meant by proactive and reactive monitoring and appreciate their need.
