VGC INTRODUCES PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUGS & ALCOHOL TESTING FOR CIVIL’S STAFF

VGC Labour Solutions is continuously looking at ways that we can increase the quality of the staff that we provide in terms of competence, attitude towards safety and fitness for work. In order to address ‘fitness for work' we are introducing "Pre-Employment Drugs & Alcohol Screening" for staff supplied by VGC on designated civil's contracts. We will be rolling this programme out to all civils contracts over the next few months.

VGC Rail Projects achieve Principle Contractor status with London Underground

VGC Rail Projects have been successful in achieving Principle Contractor status with London Underground and have secured their first contract in this capacity upon the Legacy Signalling Modification programme to facilitate introduction of the new S8 rolling stock trains.This Package of works is to undertake Installation, Testing & Commissioning upon the Metropolitan line within Operational Segment 3 (OS3) between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge.

VGC achieves CSCS Platinum Status

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) has become the industry standard competency card scheme. It provides a simple means for construction workers, supervisors and managers to prove their competence in a consistent manner.

VGC WINS SAFETY AWARD FOR SECOND MONTH IN A ROW

VGC are delighted to have been awarded the Monthly Contractors Safety Award on the M25 project for the second month in a row demonstrating compliance with the Skanska / Balfour Beatty Safety initiatives.

VGC has been awarded the Monthly Contractors Award on the M25 Section 4. The award is for complying with the Skanska / Balfour Beatty Safety initiatives. VGC were awarded the top spot which was contested between 14 different contractors.

VGC Recruits for the future...

VGC recently attended a recruitment fair with JCP. As well as registering some excellent candidates VGC were able to provide advice for people trying to seek work into the industry & gaining construction related competencies such as CSCS cards.

VGC workers demonstrate increased competency levels through achievement of NVQ’s

VGC's close working relationships with Lewisham College has resulted in a large number of VGC workers achieving Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ's demonstrating compliance with the national occupational standards in areas such as general construction operations, form working, excavation and reinstatement, structural concreting & Occupational Work Supervision.
